IIT Pipedream

If you have read books related to the lives of IIT students and thought to yourself..Hey that's a really neat book. IIT students must have real amazing fun while they're there. Well, they don't. As far as i've seen or heard, they're just depressed emo souls with no idea why they're even doing engineering and get stuck with the grind of being an IITian!
Honestly, i have nothing against them lot but it makes me wonder how people know they're going to get fucked over and they know it's gonna suck but still chose to do it. Not once, not twice. All the time.

I read another such story recently about an IIT chap. I won't mention the name but he's included in the list of IIT students who have suddenly decided to quit engineering and become authors. And no points for guessing what their books are about. I don't even blame them, it's not their fault that they fail impossible tests or they have to sit through a million hour lectures. No wonder they get sick of it, even people who want to become engineers eventually get sick of the whole process.

Anyways, getting back to the story.. Thanks to Mr. Chetan Bhagat and his first book on the lives of IIT students, many have followed suit and tried to write about their lives in a similar manner. So, here's what i've observed and learned:

1.Every story is written in first person.I am this, i did this, I study in IIT and i suck at this...You get the flow.

2. The narrator or so called protagonist has 2 roommates or friends. So, they're a gang of 3.

3. No one gives a shit about these 3 people, it's like they don't even exist.

4. There's always a girl who is the complete opposite of the guy.

5. And is slightly retarded. Thus, Kareena Kapoor.

6. They hate all authority.

7. They all smoke pot.

8. There is mention of a so called spot or as many people refer to as "adda".

9. They all get into trouble....all the time.

10. The 3 fight after a few chapters.

11. The girl leaves the guy who screwed up something which he wasn't even supposed to be doing.

12. The have weird emo thoughts all the time. At least one of them do.

13. And lastly, there is no happy ending. It's just an ending where you go, that was nice..i think i'm gonna go masturbate now.

So, next time you pick up a book about an IIT student's time there, be sure to keep the above thoughts in mind. I have read 4 books on the same topic and they all have these elements in them. I'm not saying i don't like them, they're good books but i've had enough of all that IIT crap. No offense to the IITians or any engineering students.

Moral of the story? If you hate being in IIT and you have only 2 friends, become a writer.
